I think the important part in this story is that they said that henrys friend is not aloud to go inside the store. I think that is important because the friend can only not go inside because he is black. I also think the book is about slivery.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte, I agree that it is important how Henry could not go in, however, I disagree that this is about slavery. I think this happens many years after slavery. It is about civil rights and how people treat each other

DeleteI agree with all of you because I think the Important part in the passage is that black peoples do not have same rights that white peoples does. So this is why the black boy is not allowed to go in the shop but the white boy can.

DeleteI agree what Sieun said because if they didn't have any friendship the black or brown boy would not have any frienship so the brown boy could have anything to eat because they could not buy anything to eat and probably they will die.

It is important because the color of your skin should not stop you from entering the shop. The passage is also about friendship since Joe realises that John is not allowed so he gets one ice pop for him by lying to Mr. Mason.
